Meet Sam (they/she)
Hi, I'm Sam! I’m a Sexologist and Specialist Social Worker with a passion for empowering queer & fat folks to thrive through radically-inclusive therapy. My practice focuses on supporting people to enhance sexual wellness, navigate body neutrality, explore their identity, and find joy in connection. I’m committed to creating spaces where you can feel safe, celebrated, and fully yourself, no matter where you’re starting from or what you’re navigating.

My Professional Background
With a master’s degree in Sexology and over eight years of experience as a Social Worker, my career has been centred around mental health, reproductive health, and trauma-informed care. Through my practice, Queer Pleasure Collective, I’ve created a platform that bridges therapy, education, and community. I specialise in psychosexual therapy, LGBTQIA+ inclusivity, and fat liberation, all with a focus on pleasure and connection as transformative tools for healing and growth.

My background also includes working in oncology, perinatal mental health, suicide prevention, chronic health, housing & homelessness, and research. These experiences shape the way I approach therapy and education—always aiming to meet people where they’re at while working toward systemic change.

My Values and Approach
At the heart of my work is a belief in the power of pleasure and connection to transform lives. I practice through trauma-informed, person-centred, and intersectional frameworks which recognise the complexities of identity and lived experience. I also understand the importance of cultural context, particularly in how systemic oppression impacts sexual wellness and body image. My goal is to co-create spaces where you feel empowered to explore, learn, and heal on your own terms.

I draw from a range of therapeutic tools, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Attachment Theory. These approaches allow me to tailor support to your unique needs, helping you build resilience, explore your emotions, and create lasting change. Whether we’re working through specific challenges or cultivating more fulfilling connections, I’ll integrate tools that are grounded in evidence and focused on your individual goals.

For me, affirming and inclusive care isn’t just about providing support—it’s about dismantling the barriers which have historically excluded marginalised communities from accessing care. That’s why I focus on creating environments that honor your unique experiences while advocating for broader societal change.

A Little About Me
When I’m not working, I find pleasure in life’s simple joys—whether that’s nurturing my garden, diving into creative projects, or enjoying quiet moments with my cat, Ziggy. I’m all about embracing soft + slow living, taking time to appreciate the little things that help me stay balanced and inspired.

Advocating for fat liberation and building meaningful community connections are also important to me. I love supporting local arts and theatre, and cooking is one of my favourite ways to nourish myself and others. These are just a few of the things that keep me grounded and motivated to show up with intention and care in my practice.

For me, pleasure is about more than just work—it’s about creating space for joy, fulfillment, and connection in every part of life.
